Some of my doctoral cohortians and I started a new blog. It was meant at first to be a place to complain about life as a doctoral student. Then we realized that certain people in our department would probably be reading it and that might come back to bite us in the behind. So we decided to change it to a forum for discussing the peculiarities of doctoral programs....and life as a perpetual graduate student in general. Feel free to peruse it at your leisure......hahaha.
P.S. There are instances where the language might be stronger than what you would expect out of me. Please note that this is the disclaimer for those instances, and realize that 2 other people contribute to this blog as well. Thanks.

Cool pictures from around Bloomington
I went on a walk through our neighborhood and there were HUGE mushrooms growing on peoples lawns. I know these are probably considered to be pesky weeds or something. But I've never seen anything like it.
This picture is of a forest that is on campus. I walk through it every day on my way to the HPER building. This was at the beginning of the changing leaves season. I wish I would have gotten a picture when they were SUPER bright yellow. Once all the leaves fell, the path looked like a yellow brick road. Now there are no leaves on the trees and everything looks dead. I will take pictures again next spring. The flowers here are AMAZING!!! So...2 good things about Bloomington so far: leaves in the fall, flowers in the spring.

Life in our new place
Cooking our first meal in our new apartment. What was it you ask? Sloppy joes.
We don't have a dining room table just yet. So we ate on the floor.

Our second meal was on the grill with our new grill accessories. That was some tasty grilled corn-on-the-cob.

The man of the house putting together our nightstands. So handy with the tools. :-)

Hanging out poolside
This is our Iguana friend who hung out with us by the pool everyday. He lived in the rocks with his buddies. We fed him lettuce. Cute little guy.
The pool/bar area. They really cater to your every want and need at the Los Cabos Golf Resort. No need to get out of the pool to order a drink. Just swim up to the poolside bar and order. They bring it right to you in the water. How's that for service.
Because it was so hot and humid, we really tried to spend as much time in the pool as possible. It was a life saver.
On the plane back to the states. Goodbye Mexico.

Lovers Beach
We went to this beach called Lovers Beach. But we found it spelled many different ways....Lovers Veach, Lobers Beach. Yeah...that's Mexico for ya I guess.
Lovers Beach is protected by the bay so the waves are small and you can snorkel and swim in the water. The other side is called Divorce beach and it takes all the force of the waves from the Pacific Ocean. HUGE WAVES!!! No one hangs out on that side.
There was no hiding from the sun. We got toasted very quickly.
